The Collective Agency were appointed to provide acoustic solutions for the Dolby UK Headquarters. As experts in sound, live recording and sound engineering takes place throughout the building, and the quality of the acoustic materials is critical. Sound was to be contained within the meeting rooms, workspaces and kitchen areas for meetings internal to the space but also to prevent sound bleed to the neighbouring work and recording areas.
In the reception area, a bespoke ceiling grid of individual boxes was created, which also housed lighting, speakers and AC.
In addition, acoustic solutions were designed for each meeting room, both for the walls and integrating hanging ceiling solutions, with customised laser-cut engineering to replicate the Dolby corporate logo in various forms, and in a variety of colours. In the kitchen area, acoustic lower-wall panelling was introduced to absorb the sound reverberation in the kitchen area, and to reduce sound bleed for the neighbouring recording labs.
